CULTURAL INTEGRATION THROUGH ORGANIZATION DESIGN AND
DEVELOPMENT
Integrating a technology team acquired by a global Industrial
Automation firm by effective Organization design and people development
A Global Industrial Automation firm with its HQ in Germany, wanted to vertically integrate a technology team from one of its vendors, within the organization
The integration demanded a strong cultural integration apart from functional integration as the two firms were at different levels on the organization maturity model, leading to significant differences in their cultures (i.e. ways of getting things done).
After a detailed organizational assessment of both the organizations a systematic approach for cultural integration was devised which was based on the context of both the organizations maturity levels, their work culture, their systems, processes and people
The approach also considered the speed at which the change has to be deployed to ensure we have high rate of adoption.
Ongoing communication design was a very important factor to ensure successful outcomes
Post Assessment a three-step solution was put in place to be deployed over a 2 years time frame.
